
Throughout the 1990s Gordon was editor and publisher at the Appalachian Mountain Club, where he renewed its guidebook program with several new guidebook series and published Appalachia, America’s longest-running outdoor journal. He converted the AMC’s map publishing operation from hand-drawn to digital output. As the Internet emerged, he designed, created and managed the AMC’s website, outdoors.org.
From 2004 to 2007 Gordon directed editorial and web services for Human Resources at Fidelity Investments. At Fidelity he supervised day-to-day web operations, ran newsletters and email programs, and edited all HR messaging to Fidelity’s 40,000 employees. He produced videos and Flash presentations, served on the Online Accessibility Initiative, and was recognized throughout the organization for his editorial leadership and management experience.
Gordon’s public-service record includes two elected terms in town government and Board Chairman and Lay Minister at Follen Church Society in Lexington, MA.
